Amongst very talented players Pernille Petersen was this Sunday announced as the winner of the first Mieke Van Weddingen recorder competition in Mechelen, Belgium.
The unanimous jury based the award on her exceptional technique, musicality and love for playing the recorder. The jury also liked the unoriginal repertoire, Pernille had adapted two pieces for the recorder. A violin sonata by Pietro Castrucci and Toshio Hosokawas: Vertical Song, originally for the flute.
Pernille was also given the audience award, based on votings of the audience.
